Recap of VBS 2017: Mission Field - Haiti

by Phyllis Kidwell
Director of Children's Ministries

Mission Field – Haiti! was a great success.

We had an average of 32 participants and 28 volunteer youth and adults each day. Our volunteers deserve a BIG THANK YOU! Several highlights include: The Hatian Market - wow, what fun it was - learning to sew seams and making shorts, decorating T-shirts, making bracelets and hair clips for the children in Haiti, decorating backpacks and making prints using fish.

We learned about mission work through the story of the Good Samaritan and about Haiti from Ginny Mattox and Sally Smith-Garmon who have been to work there with Dan Daniels and many others to build energy plants and water filtration systems to clean the water.

Our Haitian Market was a huge success! Participants had their own "tap taps" to ride in!
