Haiti Update: Hurricane Matthew Devistation

By Ginny Mattox, Mission Committee at FPC

The devastation that Hurricane Matthew wreaked upon Haiti becomes more evident each day. The death-toll is rising as is the degree of suffering due to lack of water, food and the risk of a widespread cholera outbreak. Having access to clean, safe water is paramount.

Ancy Fils-Aime, in-country coordinator of Living Waters for the World (LWW), led an initiative to review the status of LWW water systems and almost all in the southwest part of Haiti have sustained significant damage that must be repaired before they can provide safe, clean water to the communities decimated by Hurricane Matthew.

From FPC-Tyler, Sally Smith-Garmon and Dan Daniel will travel to Haiti on December 6 to work with a larger team to make needed repairs to systems previously installed and to provide aid where needed. Please continue to remember our Haitian partners in your prayers.

If you wish to donate, send your check to FPC-Tyler with Solar under the Sun/Living Waters for the World (SUTS/LWW) in the memo line. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
