Summer 2019 Youth Group Mission Trip

  • Burnamwood Appalachian Ministry Irving, Kentucky (map)

A 17-member team from FPC Youth will be going on a cross-country mission adventure to Burnamwood Appalachian Ministry at Camp Burnamwood (PCUSA).

During that week, we’ll engage in a variety of mission activities with the local community, including home repair and “winterizing,” clean-up of mountain streams, and outreach to senior adults, youth, and children. We will also take some time to enjoy the beauty of Appalachia with hiking at the Red River Gorge and immersing ourselves in mountain culture. On our way home, we’ll visit Pigeon Forge and Dollywood, the theme park of country music legend Dolly Parton!

We’re looking forward to all the ways we can spread God’s love in Appalachia this summer, and we’ll be ready to share our experiences with you in worship on Sunday, July 7.

When: June 23 - 30

Total Cost: $250

Road Snacks Needed for the Summer 2019 Youth Mission Team
Not part of the Summer 2019 Youth Mission Team but still want to help? We need snacks for the road, (no peanut products, please)! From now through Thursday, June 20, we are gladly receiving donations of bottled water and a variety of snacks for our long journey to Kentucky and back. Drop-off for these items in the large wooden box in the administration office during business hours or near the first floor elevator in the main building.
